uh uhh that looks bad.. pink petals floating in black and white mush.. i like the contrast between the rose and the barbed wire tho'
selective colour wise, i wouldn't go fully B+W with the background and id have the rest of the rose in colour

I quite agree, I'm not convinced by it and went with this particular 'artistic interpritation' because the missus said she loved it and wanted to use it for a birthday card. Which on reflection is about right because it looks a bit like a cheapo Clintons Cards image.
I know what I was trying to achieve and the artistic focus was on the rose and the barbed wire and not the predominent use of colour vs B&W. I may play with it some more and see what comes of it but I was a little disappointed with it.

cool project!
as it stands though that church looks very 2 dimensional, you need to bring some detail out in the shadow areas..

amazing shot stavros!
Cracking closeup Stavros, is that with the tubes I sold you?
Purdy flowers, mucking around with the 70-200 handheld again, gotta love the IS on that thing I'm useless without it (Neurological condition means I have naturally 'jittery' hands)
Thanks.
No, it was without the tubes as I had run out of batteries for my flash so I wouldn't have been able to get enough light in. The sun went in after this too which meant that handheld macro was just about impossible, so this was the best shot which is a bit of a shame as there were some cooler things about.
Just nipped outside and found his mate, ironically the sun nipped in as I nipped out.

Wow - that is incredible detail. What do you use for that?
Excellent horse jumping pic - not an easy subject.
A pano from Harrison Stickle.
