ok well this is by no means on the same par as you guys with the expensive equipment but I like it so I thought I would share.
I took this on a frosty morning last year with a cheap 6 Megapixel point and click.
It is taken about 100 meters outside our front door on the path where I walk the dog:

There are plenty of us who've used point and shoots for photos in this thread (or phones!) - some of my best shots are with a 3MP point and shoot (canon A70).
Get yourself a copy of the GIMP or Paint.net and work on the photo on your computer and it'll be nicer (and I don't mean the obvious 'photoshop job' - it's simple corrective measures like adjusting levels and sharpening).
I am using a LCD TV as my PC Monitor I must say I am finding it hard to get the right levels Gamma wise. Looked at the websites offering calibration for montors (from black to white) and it shows my screen to be perfect obviuosly it isn't though.
Will have a play later today see if I can improve things as it needs doing because it is spoiling my pictures and I assume if I printed these Photos all the wrongs would be evident..
Just glad you guys said something :)
Oh My what a mess.. Just adjusted the gamma on my Graphics Card to 2.01 and can see clearly the 'mess' on those Lunar images erm 'Eeeeeeeekkkkkkkk'.
Will re edit and post with my new settings..

Gamma corrected..
Let me know what you think please?
Thanks

Lark, welcome to the group, you do have a good eye for a pic, that shot is pretty nice to me :)
James (Orion), you might wanna consider reducing the size of your images too matey, try 1024 wide.
Will do in the future David :) can't be to bad it's just been on Stargazing Live BBC (Corrected Image)... :)
a couple more shots taken a couple of days after the first one:
The lake that the path in the other picture runs past. The ice has been cleared in preparation for skating on it:
