I like that B&W kushtithe mysteriousness of the mist and all that.
I'm still working on a new pano from the front of my mountain home in the Pyrénées. Went all out and did a 110-shot pano (3 rows of approx 36 shots each) at 200mm. Gives around 600 Mpx but it's a bit daunting and I'm limited with the 64k jpeg resolution. Looking at creating a zoomable flash-like thing which isn't too crippled in a demo version. Will post when I manage to sort it out.

Could do with a larger image in the thread? Hard to really make out.
Thanks. That certainly looks nice and sharp! Composition's good.
Only criticism I have is that it's a dull subject![]()

blue moon tonight

Not sure if it's just jpg compression Bob but there's quite a bit of distracting noise in the black below the moon there.
As you were the only person there it's hard to say if the colours are accurate, or even if they represent your impression of the scene (more important than 'accurate' IMHO). There looks to be a very minor yellowy/mustardy cast, but this is entirely within possible natural conditions given the weather so it doesn't flag anything as wrong to me. Likewise although it might be considered a bit flat if you were looking at blue skies, the muted colours match *my* expectations of what that scene could realistically look like, and I generally prefer subtle tones that are technically harder to capture/express than vivid tones that every compact camera/phone seems to pop out by default.

Oh OK. I can't see the picture at work (photobucket is blocked...but not flickr...), but perhaps the mustardy colour could be down to me playing with saturation??? Or contrast? Or did I mess up the tone curve? Or did I select the wrong white balance?
Generally, that photo was taken when a typhoon came close. It pushed a lot of clouds quickly and suddenly to Osaka. I originally was going to take a picture with the blue skies, but the weather turned pretty quickly!
I don't think it's wrong, however if it *were* wrong then it'd be a combination of your white balance and my monitor.
