    Re: Photo-a-day

A couple from our very chilly day out at Lavendon and Turvey, two local villages with some great architecture and scenery.

    1) Turvey Church Yard

    2) Lavendon Church

    3) Trees in the grounds of the local "stately home"

Usual setup, Nikon D70, 720nm internal filter, Nikon 18-70mm.
    Cheers, David

    Nice...

Have you ever tried reversing it so the landscape is " coloured " and the sky filtered ?

The column of headstones with crosses looks an interesting shot too .

I'm not a fan of that wall, but good model and a fantastic scene to the right. Glad you got that in, slightly a shame to blur it away so much.

    Re: Photo-a-day

Nice idea, where you trying to go for a surreal shot ?

... but the perspective doesnt work IMO , not when you have one as powerful as that with the path , it clashes with the wall & model like 2 different shots.

The wall and girl are fine by themselves , but add the path and it becomes arkward as hell

I really like the contrast in that shot Bob, the graffiti covered wall in the otherwise idyllic autumnal setting - The light is perfect and that scarf highlights the colours on the right side of the pic, which jars (quite rightly so) with the blotchy "artwork" behind.

Violence and Lubrication is the solution to fixing everything, if it still doesn't work, you need more lubrication.

    Re: Photo-a-day

    Ta very much.

Aye, if you lot wanna descend into darkest Northants in the spring/summer I'm happy to take you to some of our best churches, and also to Summer Leys, our best local nature reserve.

And as for Redbubble.com - it's a bit hit and miss, Ive sold a few bits before now, but I only made 6 quid in four years till this week. I do FAR better from Flickr and Facebook, and also word of mouth. The IR churches have done quite well and I've also done quite a few family portrait, even though it's not one of my strong points.
    Cheers, David
