Here's my first attempt at night photography.

Like the comp Dan, but the horizon seems wonky to me ... Maybe it's just the way it is ... Like the focussing too.

hehe , I agree its definitely wonky perhaps he was seasick ?

It does appear that way doesn't it, but actually it's a hill gradually rising to the left. Doesn't change the fact I may well have been seasick too though

Thanks, I've been wanting to get some shots with car lights for ages, but I was struggling to find a decent location that I liked, I wanted a good road and some points of interest around it, I'm not sure if this pulls it off exactly, I would have preferred to get a good city-scape view with a road near, I think the middle section in between the road and the horizon breaks it up a bit.

I thought it was a bit off at first too, but while the horizon appears to be crooked, the sea level looks flat to me. I really like how the hand rail just continues out into the distance.

guys dont post your best shots online too often because there is a new copyright law stating anyone can steal your pic, take out the meta and make money out of it and get away with it!

From now on, all my good shots will be hanging on my wall in a frame whilst i will post the crap average pics asking for CC

Use watermarks.

Seriously, if on the off-chance someone wanted to steal one of my photos rather than one taken by countless others far better than I, then posting it in a thread like one might actually help establish prior ownership and increase my chances of compensation.

Think your right , be interesting to see something in the foreground too just to give it some dimension of depth - or higher up like almost an aerial shot but thats just me..

The background reminds of those posters you usually see for US skylines like Manhattan

Who doesn't know the difference between there and their? I tend to name my private static or constant values with an underscore, I don't think that's too contentious.
