My 2nd roll on medium format, it's sweet :D Scanning in gave me a 20mb Jpeg file @ 6500 x 5000 @ 3200dpi
u got a fetish for graveyards?
amazing colouring - did u use any infill or is it all natural light?
yes i know another gig photo - shoot me ;)
http://a205.ac-images.myspacecdn.com...3675ad400c.jpg
Well yeah i like graveyard, same for your fetish with gigs :P I just up the contrast a bit and some local sharpenning, nothing major, it was a really good day so the colour pop nicely. Ektachrome help as well
lols @ bob no Gorrilas in the Mist shots bob ???? :p:p
I'm really liking your gig shots bob. Mine always either look red from the colour cast, rubbish due to horrible smoke stuff or bland. I have very few that I actually like.
http://www.pbase.com/bob_hall/image/88936720.jpg
this would have suffered from a really bad red cast, had i not used remote flash to give a little fill in..
in keeping with the gig photo thing...
I'd post some gig photos a friend took when we went to see Prince, but he'd (Prince) sue me :(
got another gig 2nite :)
http://www.pbase.com/bob_hall/image/89317300.jpg
I've got one tonight, but i hate the venue. they have no stage lights, and the light that is there is red. I really need to invest in a remote flash :( *writes to santa*
can always shoot raw - then set your exposure off of the performers face, if its red, underexpose by 1/2 - 3/4 of a stop (check your histogram)
from last night
http://www.pbase.com/bob_hall/image/89405015.jpg
from a Gig on Thurs - had a wedding yesterday so only just looked at them now..
http://a648.ac-images.myspacecdn.com...f2e8118fc7.jpg
love your gig shots Bob
Slightly older church this time :p
http://img115.imageshack.us/img115/3...beysnowob9.jpg
well it would seem that taking a picture of this guy and his band on Monday could well work to my advantage
http://a684.ac-images.myspacecdn.com...b0d2131f83.jpg
it turns out that he helps run a venue that i've taken photos at before, and he wants to get me onboard as their photographer :D
having a meeting with them next week :)
It's not snow

Our 16 month old daughter is going to be a rock chick!!! This was to Metallica
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...yrockchick.jpg
Poor child, musically stunted from birth....
:D
Okay, no laughing :embarrassed: I took this a few weeks ago whilst walking along Marazion beach - it was so windy and bitterly cold I could hardly keep still - I was trying to capture the RNLI boat emerging while it was being bathed in sunlight but with me shivering so much I ended up mis-timing the shot. The image was taken with my new Canon Ixus 950 IS - the first camera I've had in years.
http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/4063/beachdw6.jpg
great shot considering - love the colour of the surf :D
sorry another gig photo ;)

^As always awsome gig pix Bobo I saw that pic and thought of this YouTube - level 42 mark king bass solo :rockon2:
synchronous swans

[IMG]http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l2...1/IMG_3248.jpg[/IMG]
Lovely pix merdat. On no:3 the detail on the swans are a blown out. if you shot in raw you might be able to get a little information back with another edit.
he's shooting auto..
you have to be very carefull when shooting white birds on the water, it sends the auto exposure dolally..
Rhyth- Thought that I had lost no:3 -it pasted into the wrong place.
Bobster : yes it was on Auto program mode , did not have a lot of time as prior to pics swans were trying to attack the dog :)
Those swans look pretty stocky compared to the ones I saw the other day!
heres one of mine, not a great composition. I wanted to get a shot with their heads forming a heart shape but unfortunately I couldn't.

the same with the vicarage across the road
Nice HDR attempts....particularly the last one, although I'd have taken it much much closed to the caravan. You can just make out that super real effect on the caravan and buildings, which should be a bigger part of the picture IMO.
Some nice pics.
Thanks ibm :)
Seeing as it's just across the road, I'll have another go soon.

Do I win the HEXUS biggest lens award? :D

http://www.stoo.org.uk/biglens2.jpg
It's distinctly overcast though, and has been ever since it arrived.. *shakes fist skywards*
so the question is, do you have a lens adaptor for it? :)
http://www.pbase.com/bob_hall/image/91534485.jpg
liking those droplets RUgger ;)
Not yet, but I hope to soon :)
Thanks Bobster, you wouldn't believe how many shots I took to get that one!
And Stoo, that's a lovely setup, where and how much?
£1500 from harpers photographic :)
I think I gave the postie a hernia :D
wow, you've given me something else to save up for.
How much can you observe through it?
Dunno yet, it arrived Thursday, and it has been overcast every night since, lol :D
2000mm get a pretty good sight of the moon ;)
2800mm on a canon DSLR :D
The moon looks ^$%^ing amazing!
You can see right down into the craters, most impressive, can't wait for a warmer clearer night, and a full moon :D
Just had it out for a bit - taken it in now as it's gone cloudy
very cool
I'm just going through my Autosport pics now, trying to photograph the live event was a waste of time. I was too far back, it was too dark and there was a massive bloke sat in front of me :(
best gig i've covered to date!
http://a989.ac-images.myspacecdn.com...0d742a0a34.jpg

http://www.pbase.com/bob_hall/image/91661709.jpg
Yep, Saturday
Here's one from Victoria Square in Birmingham today. Really wished I'd taken my tripod, shooting low light handheld is hard :)
As always, larger sizes available

Here are the flooded fields near Brownsover, Rugby
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2251/...e160ff.jpg?v=0

wow, now that is one flooded field..
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2360/...c86ab2.jpg?v=0
Unfortunately the clouds weren't as well defined as I would like, but I was going for the "peeping through a hole" effect. Click for the larger version.
Rugby station on Tuesday 15th, VERY rainy
http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...9_edited-1.jpg
With train, not trying to introduce motion blur here, might go back and try that again. Although it will make me look like a train spotter!
http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/c...2_edited-1.jpg
get a lower angle next time ;)
to achieve what? come on Bob, you're teasing, are they any good? Anyway, here's my cat.
