They absolutely shouldn't go away. You can easily add noise to an image if you want it, but removing it completely when you want a clean shot is impossible.

Indeed, but you don't always need clean images so to reject certain cameras outright because they aren't zero noise in various conditions is a bit silly (not saying anyone here is doing that btw) - they should only be rejected where you absolutely need a clean image.

They're miles from blowing according to both the camera and LR software!



Is your monitor too bright? It actually suffers from the opposite problem - clipped shadows and terrible shadow noise, as per usual Oly (I call it 'texture' )

Looks like it's a hazy day and a high-contrast scene. It's never going to pop. I'd be tempted to convert it to B&W and punch the contrast.
