That was indeed one fat squirrel, bet the scene 2 secs later was an empty tree with a broken branch...
I havn't got a flash gun for my new SLR yet but I have an old vivitar flash for my Pentax P30.
Played around with 1 sec shutter speeds and firing the flash manually and came up with this self portrait.

@Bob: I'm asuming the fly dead was and pinned down or something when you took that? Otherwise how the heck did it sit still long enough?

Settings :1/160 shutter speed
F5.6 Apeture
The lens is a Tamorn 70-200mm cant remember the exact details but its in the other thread Here
