Love the drawing!
I don't want to be negative, but this is bugging the hell out of me, whats that line across his lips up to his nose meant to be exactly?
I had assumed him wiping some blood from his noise!
lol..it's a shadow of the helmet strap reflecting from his armour up onto his lip.
Great work Roo should be in a Gallery!

Ullswater at dawn on Tuesday. Colours were nice - B&W110 warmified everything and I decided against correcting the balance/saturation/colour as I liked the purplish hues.

Orion, well caught sir, tis a Male Orange tip, loads about this time of year, but they rarely sit that still for long !
Got a bit bored this morning, and the dogs refused to pull any decent poses, so I resorted to taking portraits of the ornaments.

That's a brilliant looking photo, how much PP did you do it?
Where is it aswell?
Cheers
Its Ullswater - single image processed in LR4. I have loads of presets that I tweak now and then and do slight alterations on a shot by shot basis.
No idea how you got it looking like that, but you've ended up with something fantastic in my opinion, would be proud to call it one of mine!
Not uploaded anything for a while since photoshop has died on me.

I like the street scene Cat. Almost makes it look like a pleasant place ;) (I'm rather too familiar with that street)
Here's a shot taken the other day on the Dawlish coast after our day trip to collect some lenses and stuff :)
As I've not got a direct URL as yet, the flickr link will have to do for now ;)

Lee, is your name Lee Horan by any chance?
Hi all. i have just started this new project of mine where i interact with 100 different people i do not know along the streets of london and ask if i can take there pic.
i started it today(well it took me 2-3 days to have the guts to!) and managed to take 2 out of 3 people i asked.
here are the results.

How does that work?
Here's one from yesterday's Sywell Aero Expo. Been after one of these Rutan Long Ezes for ages, then two turn up :)
http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7083/7...e021b389_b.jpg
The shutter is on a curtain which moves from the top to the bottom, as such one side of the image is exposed before the otherside, because of the RPM of the propeller, (probably about 2,000 rpm, maybe 2,500) is so fast, it means that as the curtain (or shutter) slides over, differen't parts get exposed.
If I said to build a shutter which evenly exposed the whole area of a rectangle, you would struggle to make one which exposed it all simultaneously, this is why rolling shutters are common. A lower or much higher shutter speed you wouldn't see this problem. I've got a whole bunch of Go Pro videos showing this with me flying.
Sadly Rob_B stripped the exif, otherwise we could work out the RPM of the propeller quite easily!
No intentional stripping done :) (ooh err)
We all went for a long walk around the village today, went to a few places we'd not been before so saw a few more photo opportunities!

I saw this lonely rusted hunk of metal and wood staring out to the bridge, no idea what is was originally for but it's been long left to rot.

bad light because her eyes are in shadow.. you need to look at how the light is hitting your subject before hitting the shutter.. you're shooting her from a non-flattering angle too.. shooting from below without giving direction is a bad idea..
you'll get better results from your subjects if you give instruction.. also just talking to them will relax them :)
Hence X-sync (or flash sync) speeds - the fastest speed the whole sensor can be exposed. Above this the shutter is rolling and you get the effect (which also ruins single-flash photography for the same reason, resulting in a need to strobe the flash so that it keeps firing as the curtain moves across the image).
sure I dabble with portraits.. ;)
i've not done a street portrait project before, but have dabbled with the idea of spending the day in town and asking people if they wouldn't mind me taking their photograph
closest i've come to it i guess was last month when i was asked to take a shot of some lovely ladies while i was showing a friend how to use their new camera for filming..
they were from Estonia and so language was a little bit of a problem :)

will be doing a sunset shoot with her down the beach soon too ;)
Just got back from a week in New York followed by a week in the Bahamas, so naturally I have a veritable treasure trove of shots to process.....

Lens distortion can be easily corrected yes, it's the lack of perspective distortion I'm impressed by. There's probably an option for that, but it's something you have to apply manually because it depends how far from horizontal you are pointing (unless you have a shift lens).
No crop or profile corrections applied, Canon 17-55 tends to exhibit less distortion than most mid range zooms.

Back from France and a few IRs off the Sony P10 to start with :) Basically unretouched, they all show the very slight dust bunny on the middle of LHS. Just did colour channel swap, and a bit of noise reduction, but apart from that they are as is :) The rest on my Flickr pages as usual ...

Since I haven't posted in a while, thought I'd upload this, took it earlier as a JPEG so I could make my brother jealous :P
Hopefully photoshop will be fixed soon, got several photos I want to upload.
and that's lunch is it ?? PLEASE dont tell me you microwaved that bacon ????
I had confit de canard avec haricots blanc on Wednesday with a jaunty little Cotes du Rhone :) Sadly no piccy ....
For me it is yeah, far nicer than what I used to have (sandwich)
And nope, was done on a George Foreman grill.
Sounds rather fancy :P I'm a mere student remember ;)
no pics of the jubilee?
wasnt here for the jublies anyway....
On a sadder note, here are a couple of mono & colour IR from Oradour Sur Glane, in France. The whole village was massacred by the Waffen SS on 10 June 1944, and the village has been left as is, as a memorial..... Very sad day walking round it !

welcome to our merry band gss :) Nice job, love the clouds :)
Here's my all time fave out of 600 odd shots taken last week in France. Its a Millpond and ex convent chapel (now a restaurant) in Verteuil.

That grass is very green :P
I quite like it though, pity about the bit of rubbish (paper?) in the middle, I like the way it looks as though the birds are on water (adults)
Nice castle shot there, have one taken from my phone from the far left wall there, its some view from it. Will be back in auld reekie on Saturday, but its a stag do thing, so camera left behind yet again, might bring it through for the festival tho.
Dave, love the steeple in the earlier 3 shots, framed by the leaves, lovely shot, the french millpond is also stunning, especially the reflection, but seems a bit busy in the IR shot, might be a contrast thing.
On a side note, ever been up to Elgin Cathedral bud? its a burnt out ruin of a building, with several walls still standing and the steeple area intact, got a few shots of it but couldnt get anything really decent, would be a cracker for your collection I think.
