Rugger how did you get behind?

I was stood right on the corner of the taxiway, about 45 degrees clockwise of the American Air Museum. With the time it takes my S9600 to transfer a RAW, I had the choice of in fromt or behind! It's still a little fuzzy for my taste, but then this was after about 6 hours of sitting in a little canvas chair on the flightline, in the rain

My first time trying to take birds in flight. Didn't get many in focus and the best shot I get a bloody reed or something is in the way! Still quite happy with it tbh I found tracking them a bloody nightmare tbh!

not a very well thought out composition and not having a reflector to sort out the harsh shadows mucked this up a bit. But there is something I really like about it.
It was taken in pitch darkness and couldn't find a torch to get the camera to focus or get the AF-Assist beam to fire. So focusing was a guessing game.

Sorry if it looks a bit soft - I just couldn't bring myself to use USM even on the RAW - no matter how gently I tried it the photo always lost some warmth.

Can anyone tell me how my monitor calibration is - new laptop and I've not had any feedback yet. Blacks should clip in the bottom right + top left but everywhere else should have detail, and no highlights should be lost.
