This is what happens when you develop film in Mongolia. You'd only develop film in Mongolia if you thought your AF was out after throwing the camera around minibuses/horses/dodgy boats. If you had a digital camera that wouldn't happen... Still - moody no? Check out the banding at ISO 200![]()
I really like the look and feel of the second one, alot!
thanksI've not been photographing long so any comments and especially compliments are nice!
The first one is an from an old stable at Clumber Park http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-clumberpark and is now part of the visitors centre explaining what Clumber was used for in WW2. It is straight from the camera, no post processing etc except resizing for easier upload to flickr (I find that when I try to upload more than 1 full size image to flickr the uploader gives up)
The second picture is my first attempt at "colour popping". Its surprisingly easy and I found the result quite enjoyable.
brammers .... love the feel of both those pics, but that second shot is stunning. Nice one.

Try a longer exposure and a smaller aperture?
Time how long it takes a car to get from one side of the shot to the other and use that as a guestimate. Bear in mind that of busier roads will give you a denser band of course. It's interesting to see that the bus lights are actually periodically flashing.
But yeah, longer exposure should do the trick, and compensate with aperture/ISO as necessary.
Because the car went and stopped, you have people blocking the trails, busses that make rubbish ones etc.
I think you could also do with a whole bunch of negative exposure compensation - you want the lights to be exposed right, not the busy background or people - try at least -1 2/3. Wack down the aperture and ISO (some cameras have an artificially low ISO to help with this too, or a ND filter etc.) to help get a longer exposure too.
These kind of shots work best where you have consistantly travelling traffic, like a motorway, or such a low exposure that you can keep it open for ages and still capture mostly lights.
I took this one in New Zealand in August.Canon 400D with a 50mm 1.8.

Nice shot Kid - but the bokkeh is a little nervous. Not a strength of that lens from what I've seen :/
This needs rescanning - lost all the blacks for some reason. Still - quite fun
Subtle aren't I?
