I always worry about banging up the contrast in case I lose detail but had a go on PS Elements (really need to read a book about this thing I am like a blind man running around)

A couple I took a few minutes ago in Berlin.
With more time and thought, I reckon this type of shot could be quite effective. A kind of "then" and "now" reflection on freedom
Just next to the previous one, by the Sony Center

TFboy - for night landscapes I really reccomend a tripod - the Sony centre shot and your HK stuff just lacks a bit of impact compared to what you could do at low ISO and a longer shutter speed. High ISO performance isn't just about low noise - there's also a loss of 'quality' - things start to get plasticy, I'm seeing that here. You're also struggling for DoF at f3.2 which leads to softness in some areas - even at 17mm, as well as corner softness due to the relatively cheap Tammy. It's a nice shot, but it could be better.

I know about the tripod - you don't have to remind me. It is annoying at times. The wall / ipod was OK and I PP'd the OoF ipod wall (badly!). But you're right - you can see the softness in the corners.
I'll be happy the day I can wander around with a tripod, but I just can't afford to at the moment. One of these days, when I'll take a holiday, I will pack it![]()
i love the plastic fantasic

Absolutely love brammers' shots.
To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.
its a chili pepper plant, I poured a bit of water from a bottle onto it whilst taking the photo (the silverness in the water is the bezel of my monitor!)
will grab one later today![]()
First proper shots with my 450D. Apologies for ****ness. Still don't know how to use the bloody thing properly.
Had problems with the suns brightness. UV filter needed?

^ Maybe not UV, I think you'd have to do some exposure compensation - but then you'll lose some detail in the darker/shadow areas.
It's depressing to be back in the UK with this grey weather.![]()
