Merdat, where-ever that was taken looks lovely and peaceful
Did this yesterday for a uni thing:
Just for fun, first attempt at startrails
Saw this out of the window this morning - couldn't resist as I haven't got a decent moon shot yet, I was surprised it came out sharp as it is shot through my window whch is a bit dirty (didn't have time to take the tripod outside - got to get to work!)

There was only so much I could get in shot with a 50mm on my camera. Plus, there was bugger all to compose.
I quite liked this one though:

Thanks for that
Its a Sony A200 with a Sony 70-300mm SSM G lens tripod mounted with a remote shutter. The photo is cropped quite a bit - plus altered the white balance a little in raw and the contrast and sharpened etc in elements but not a huge amount.
Camera settings: 1/80 sec shutter, f/10, ISO 100 on manual exposure (I took bracketed exposures)
Although I didn't need to tripod mount, I took a few handheld I just bumped the ISO to 200 and opened the lens up a bit and it was just about as good. Just harder to keep still when shivering!!
One thing I made sure I did was to take the UV filter off, I have in the past experienced ghosting with UV filters when trying to take moon shots.
Am pleased with the shot, far better than I got with my Tamron 70-300mm (although for the price difference it should!).
Now I just want more range to get closer!
this is a 1:1 crop - this is a nice lens
