    Yes, I was thinking that £217 would barely cover labour, heh. A skilled technician usually costs £100/hr, not that the tech actually sees that amount...

    choice is machine gunning it at 10fps or machine gunning it at 5fps and 21mpx - and in two seconds capture hundreds of mb's worth of photo.

    Re: New Canon dSLRs

    Look at this people, rumoured spec for Nikon D3, supposedly will be announce tomorrow

    D3

    * Full frame (FX) 12 megapixel Nikon CMOS
    * Live view LCD
    * 9fps in FF mode, 11fps in HSC mode (at 1.5 crop factor / DX size)
    * ISO 200 - 6400 with LO (ISO 100 equivalent), H1 and H2 (ISO 12800 / 25600, respectively)
    * 51 point autofocus system (15 cross sensor)

    Both the burst rate and ISO are just off the chart completely

    And the D300

    D300

    * DX format 12 megapixel CMOS (supposedly possibly the same as the D2X)
    * Live view LCD
    * 6fps, up to 8fps with power grip (no HSC mode)
    * ISO 200 - 3200 with LO (ISO 100 equivalent), H1 (ISO 6400)
    * 51 point autofocus system (15 cross sensor)

    Seriously hope it's not real lol, I'm a Canon fanboy

    Hmm, not sure about that, I'd be astounded if anything over 1600 ISO was usable in the slightest, let alone 12800 / 25600!

    Re: New Canon dSLRs

    Nice one bob

    TBH, I think the engadget article is embellishing a few things based on a wonky translation:

    Original Article, Translated
     Deviation of the reader, it received releasing the new model of the kind of contents which are surprised. That is thought that after it is announced a little, it is the information regarding the new model of Nikon. Time of announcement seems that 1 days is quicker than rumor. So, introducing the contents right away, you think as like.

     First first it does to refuse, but it is proper, in regard to the releasing which you offered, but there is no [be] which authenticity is verified is done here. Because is, here it informs about the contents which offer it receives leaving, in regard to contents as for judgment, you think that entrust to everyone who, read we would like to do.

     Deviation of the reader you offered, the new information regarding the new model of Nikon is as follows.

     Announcement from 23rd 13 o'clock, concert is done inside capital.

     As for body 2 types.

     D3 FX format (full size) 12Mpixel Nikon make CMOS
        At the time of second 9 scene DX crop second 11 scene
        ISO 200~6400 Lo 1 (ISO 100 suitable) Hi 2 (ISO 25600 suitable) setting possibility

     D300 DX format 12Mpixel CMOS
        At the time of second 6 scene battery grip use second 8 scene (there is no crop)
        ISO 200~3200 Lo 1 (ISO 100 suitable) Hi 1 (ISO 6400 suitable) setting possibility

     Also both types as for AF area, 51 point cross 15 points
     Live view possibility. Live view time, contrast AF possibility

     As for lens 5.

     AF-S Nikkor 14-24mm F2.8G
     AF-S Nikkor 24-70mm F2.8G

     AF-S VR Nikkor 400mm F2.8G
     AF-S VR Nikkor 500mm F4G
     AF-S VR Nikkor 600mm F4G

     With the notion that where you call above, among the informations which it receives, the new model digital single-lens reflex of Nikon the part of the information regarding the new lens was excerpted.

     Privately, the real thing we would like to believe in regard to contents, but verification of authenticity it will do, but in the reason that, it is not, you make the positioning, rumor. Because is, you attach also the note writing below. In regard to this information, the separate article is written.

    <Note>
     The rumor which is picked up here is the releasing which to the last is not the limits of rumor. Until now synthesizing various informations and the like with the rumor which comes coming out, being something which you write, as for the contents which are written here lack of confirmation you release to the last. Actually, whether or not it is announced is from now on, in regard to completely it is unclear.
     We have entrusted to the one itself judgment which was read as rumor concerning the judgment of contents of those which are written. That you said whether there is also such releasing in amusement, please receive.
     Because it is not something which has what basis concerning the appearance time which is rumor, please do not do to reference such as purchase.
    So apparently it's a Nikon CMOS, which I very much doubt has the capabilities they're talking about (broken translation, or wishful thinking?)

    Re: New Canon dSLRs

    the 12.5Mp Sony CMOS sensor for the D300 sensor is very plausible seeing as they announced 1 on Monday & it fits in with previous Sony sensor/Nikon new camera announcements.

    The 12Mp FF Nikon sensor seems to be less so - there are rumours that Sony can either upscale the new sensor or that they also have an FF in development though (it's noticeable that a no. of Sony's announced new lenses are FF & why do that if you are only going to make APS-C bodies? ... ).
    Hopefully it'll all be settled tomorrow.
