camera wanted max £130 from amazon

Right, i realise that this is quite a specific request buy i have a nice voucher to spend on amazon,

I want to buy a compact camera that is good for parties, gigs etc but will also be used outside in daylight.

smallish with a decent screen would be nice

I am currently looking at the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W55 which looks good for £110 or the Canon IXUS 70 for £120, or the Fuji FinePix F40fd for £120 also.

I dont know much about compact digitals only having a Nikon DSLR, but does anyone have any advice as to what would be good.

Basically the best sub £130 camera from amazon please!! (if the £130 included a decentish memory card that would be an extra bonus)

    thanks in advance

Fuji F40fd if you're determined to have 8MP, otherwise the Fuji F31fd is said to be better (and has supreme low-light performance).

fuji 31fd was the one i originally wanted, but amazon are selling them for more than the F40fd! i though i'd be able to get a F31fd for around the £100 mark.

Canon Ixus 70, definitely. Got one just before i went on holiday and the photos we took came out fab. There's almost as many buttons to press as there are on my 400D!

I wasn't all that impressed with fuji's "high iso performance" tbh, I tried taking gig photos and they were horribly noisy.

not sure, the only photo i've taken using it in low light was this one:

Doesn't really count when you're using a long shutter though

I've not had a chance to take it to a gig yet.

    thanks guys

I would go for the fuji but Amazon dont sell the f31fd any more.

The canon ixus 70 seems to get better reviews over the f40fd, so i think i'll grab that one!

you can't compare a DSLR with a compact, the sensor sizes are totally different..
