Digital Camera Problem

I own a Kodak c613 digital camera. Its at budget camera and takes rechargeable AA batteries. I used the camera with the batteries out of the box till they were drained before recharging.

After the first proper charge in one the uniross unit, I've noticed the batteries run out quickly. I have barely taken 6 snaps before they've run out again. They have been fully charged 3 times now, but I'm not getting any time with them.

Should I get better batteries or unit.. am I missing anything?

what batteries are they? which charger unit are you using?

i get plenty of flashes with my 2700 mAh UNIROSS in my 580EX and i use the Sprint 15min to charge them

Its not clear, but did you get standard Alkaline batteries out of the box? (usually they are the ones supplied and would only last several shots).

If so, then they are not rechargable!

If you did get rechargable ones within the box or have used other rechargable batteries then check the batteries on other gadgets.

Checking Kodak's website for that camera, the package contents only mention Alkaline batteries, not rechargable ones (a bit tight IMO).

Most cameras do only come with alkaline batteries. They tend to give superior life before needing replacing, so they tend to get bundled with them to give a better first impression. They definitely aren't rechargeable though, and if they are alkalines that you charged, then you're rather lucky not to be covered in rather warm (like scalding warm) gunk and metal, along with a nice bang, and explosion-shaped hole in the wall.

If you want to get some rechargeables I can highly recommend Sanyo Eneloops - they're not the longest lasting batteries on the planet for continuous use, but they hold their charge much, much better than any other battery I've used. Makes them ideal for most cameras uses, flashes and cordless keyboards and mice and things.

I just had another look. They're akaline. I was under impression they were rechargeable. :| Time to get some rechargeable.

Just one thing, if the recharge unit says 4x2500, does that mean it can recharge up to that or can you stick in higher rated ?

It means the charger will handle batteries up to 2500mah, but only if the batteries can handle that capacity too. If they are 1800mah batteries, the charger will only put 1800mah into them.

It's a uniross unit. I got 2500mah batteries from maplins so hopefully will get a few more snaps this time round.

lol.. luckily you didnt get hurt from charging the alkalines (as mentioned by this_is_gav)

you'll definitely get more pictures out of the rechargables. I reckon around 250 shots
