LOL, yes 60fps... for 1 second
And 60x 6mp images in a second isn't impressive?
How about 5fps for 12 seconds? Thats faster than my 350D
wouldnt that be more suited to some kind of DV camera with a hard drive?

You'd probably have a fast stills camera aswell if your getting (even motion that the human eye cannot ordinarily perceive) specialist. Else it's essentialy a fast 6mp superzoom that's around £450 more expensive than it's slower but just as sharp rivals. We'll have to wait for the reviews hey.

There is always loads of cool gear i want, but never quite get there, so the chances of me actually buying this are pretty slim. I've wanted an HD camcorder for ages now, but i don't really need one. Ignoring the price differential for a minute, i could probably justify one of these over a camcorder as I would take more stills than video.
I've not looked at the price, I didn't realise it was that expensive.
I do think it is a fantastic concept though, and it shows what is possible with modern sensors and image processors. An SLR that could do some of this would be awsome (especially if it was from Canon )
I think canon slr technicians probably wake up in cold sweats thinking about the marketting department demanding a Single Lens Reflex camera that can take up to 1200fps. Even 60fps. Can you imagine what kind of abuse you'd be putting the shutter through at those kinds of speeds?

How about using the LiveView data path for ultra high frame rates?
Then you are not puting the strain on the shutter mechanism. Sure you loose some of the benefits of it being an SLR, but I thyink a compromise is perfectly acceptable
