fuji camera advice

Hi im on the lookout for a very good camera preferably fuji with my max budget being £200

here are two that i am considering, one is slight over 200 but thats ok:

well i dont know much about cameras but i heard that the higehr the ISO is the better low light it has

I think you should consider a Canon!

My beloved Powershot A60 (2 megapixels) died last year and I had to pick up another camera as I was going away. The best offer at the time was the Fuji S5700. The zoom is magnificent, but the pic quality is a bit hit and miss. Definitely not on the crop of the A60.

However, not sure about the models you mentioned.
Beware of higher iso as they can produce noisy pictures.

high ISO is noisy on the S9600, but I'm learning a hell of a lot on it. It's definitely a bridge camera i.e. you'll want to buy a full on SLR eventually, but as a dcently priced learning tool which can take a good range of accessories and filters it's good value.

On the other hand, the high ISO performance is fairly typically Fuji and it's very good compared to other similarly priced cameras. I've got a 9500 and it's great for learning about some of the more advanced photographic stuff. The only thing i wish it had was a digital trigger instead of only cable and some sort of time lapse feature - or a proper bulb mode.

how about the s8000? is that camera a good camera to work with untill i have money to waste on a SLR camera? how does it fair when taking pictures in low light?

If you think spending money on an SLR is a "waste", you can't be that keen on photography! Buying an SLR isn't a waste of money, it's an investment. Until you've used one, you won't understand.


On a more related note:
I had a fuji 5600 a couple of years ago. Bought it for gig shots, was a bit disappointed with the quality of low light photos, considering thats what i bought it for, sold it and picked me up my Canon 400D. Never looked back!

If you can hold back and save up a little bit more cash, i'd hang on and get myself a low-end canon SLR if i were you. You could probably, actually, pick up a Canon 350D on ebay for a decent price just now.

i decided to save up for a Canon EOS 400D. does this camera perform well in low light? How many shots can i take in burst mode

and about the zoom in it. is teh zoom dependant on what lens to use etc?
