Personally I wouldnt go for a 70-300, I have a tamron f4.5-5.6 and it rarely comes out of my bag, I just never seem to have a use for it, thats just me though.

i have an image tank which i use in the luls of a wedding to put the images to, but i don't re-use the cards until everything is backed up on my external drive, and on 2 copies of DVD..
