Canon 40D replacement of the 400D
Hi,
I have recently replaced my 400D with the 40D. The feel it it totally unbelievable heavy, plus it is a much better camera.
The problem, if this is a problem or not.
Some of the pictures I have taken display some strange blinking black spots on the screen? Not all pictures has it.
Has anyone seen this before...
I'm sorry if this already discussed here?"
I'm using the 17-85mm & 50mm lens....
cheers
B.

Are they only visible on the cameras display screen, or when you transfer photos to your computer?
Re: Canon 40D replacement of the 400D
That's the highlight Alert kicking in.
It tell you where you are shooting something brighter than the sensor is able to record correctly, above the capture range.
Re: Canon 40D replacement of the 400D
Does that mean it is bad? Can it be easily avoid?
Oh...I can turn the highlighter alert off in the menu option
Re: Canon 40D replacement of the 400D
What it means is you should adjust your exposure settings to avoid this over exposure.
Higher end video cameras do something similar but it's usually a scrolling black and white zebra pattern.

it means if you're shooting JPG the image has been blown in that part (you can turn Tone Priority on and it will help :))
