I'm pretty sure someone on here has one, he posted a thread only just the other day - with some sample pics, looks like a nice camera.

Cheers for the links,G10 has far to many pixels.
Its not the nicest looking camera but i would rather have a camera that takes good pictures.
It's not that much more than the G9. But you're right, you don't need that many pixels in a compact.
Technically, the G10 should be a better camera than the G9, as it is its successor, but it would depend if the updates matter to you. . . e.g. G10 has a wider minimum focal length than the G9 which will allow wider shots, but the G9 has a 6x zoom (compared to the G10's 5x) with more telephoto focal length to allow shots to be taken from further away. There's a whole host of other technologies embedded into the Canon G-series that get updated (e.g. the DIGIC processor), so it maybe worth looking into the G10 even as just as an option.
Maybe once more reviews are written on the G10 it'll help with an informed decision - such reviews will usually conclude whether or not the successor models are worth the extra buck.
Here's a side by side comparison of the G9 and G10
Cheers but at £400 I think ill be better off with the G9
You might also be able to find an A650 which is basically the same sensor/lens as the G9. The body is more plasticy etc. but the price should be quite a bit lower and it takes AAs.
I recently got an A720 which 'only' has 8mp but the quality seems fantastic, especially in RAW.

Ill look into that camera aswell,Ive got to have a good camera with good shutter lag times when using the flash
The powershots are all good at shutter reaction speed.. but if you're after fast refresh time for the flash then avoid the A720! It's only got 2AAs and the flash takes a while to charge after a shot. The 650 has 4xAA and is better in this respect, but the G9 is probably better with its li-ion pack.

Yes its a fast refresh time im after ive got a child so its good to have a fast one,Of course a DSLR would be much better,But they are just too big to carry around where ever you go.
