    but not really sure so wanted your advice on the matter.

    Re: New camera advice

    Comparing those two, the second one looks much better:
    4X Optical/Aperture control/manual focus etc.
    Slightly smaller screen though, but the other features should more than make up for that I think.

    http://www.trustedreviews.com/filter...=11&submit.y=6 <= take a look at that!

    It'll depend mostly on how tech savvy your dad is. Does he want a camera that gives lots of extra features like full manual control, long exposure mode, etc? Does he want gimmicks like "smile shutters"?

    The Lumix above (second one) will be a good camera, i've got an old one and they're nice to use. Good menus, big screens and the pictures aren't bad either. The lenses are Leicas if that's important to you.

    If you can stretch, look at the Ixus range from Canon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/qid=125466...ce=150&x=0&y=0

    Re: New camera advice

    I would probably go for this one:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Canon-PowerS...728456&sr=1-18

    Which leaves some room for a case, proper card etc. But it depends what your dad is looking for in a camera really.
