    Good camera batteries?

I'm looking for a spare battery for my wife's Canon Ixus 95IS compact. The battery model is NB-6L.

Looking at it, I can get a few clones for under a tenner, or the official Canon one for about £27.

Is it worth spending extra for the official one, or am I just paying for the brand?

I don't mind buying 3rd party if that's going to be fine, but what I don't want to do is go for some crappy brand that screws up. I don't mind paying more for good quality.

Does anyone have any experience or personal recommendations?

    Re: Good camera batteries?

All the spares for my Canon 350D and 40D came from 7dayshop.com

All have worked flawlessly, not a single problem with any of them.

Perhaps if I was sticking them in a 1D I would go for originals, but as long as they aren't eBay specials I'd be happy to use third party cells.

ok, next question! If 7dayshop.com don't have the batteries you're after (in my case NB-2L), where can I find some decent 3rd party ones that's not ebay? I can't remember where I got my other 3rd party one from, but I want to have another spare.

I found that the energizer ones weren't as good as the no name at holding their charge

But I did find that the original (for me Pentax) where still the best, but not worth the premium, so I always keep that one fully charged as my fall back
