    Just bought Sony Hx9v

    I just wanted to ask for any tips you guys might have since I am a newbie to this.I bought it fir the video and wanted to know any good software for editing as well.

    What's your budget? And what kind of video will you be making?

    Sony Vegas isn't bad if you're doing the odd video here and there with your camera. And prob doesn't cost too much

    Other wise go for Premiere or Final Cut

    Sony Vegas is great apparently - i know a few photographers who use it to create their wedding slideshow DVDs (integrating video with still shots)

    I just got sony vegas pro 10 ,but you think the other 2 are better ? I will be making vids of holidays and the kids and maybe a wedding or two.

    Congrtars on your HX9V purchase you will not be dissapointed.

    For editing the avchd video files i use Premiere CS 5.5

    Is it Sony Vegas Pro you have?

    Yes, Adobe Premiere is better, Final Cut is only on Mac (if you have one)

    Also, newer versions of Premiere are only for 64 bit platforms.
