+1 to that, the onboard JPEG for the K-7 was shockingly unfished.
I wish they had just said so... Hey guys the firmwares a bit busted for JPEG, but you all shoot RAW on these class of dslr's anyway right?
I'm worried people think I'm canon bashing, I'm not, if people haven't gottern it by now I hate everything
Raccoons FTW!
what even this guy?

Heh, to be fair I really was only relating to the previous post comments regarding general performance of cameras above ISO 800 and that specifically the 7D performs admirably in that area; I'm quite aware of the 'legacy' status of the 50D and k-7 and wasn't particularly comparing them.
I'm quite tied to the Canon system due to my lens choices and I'm in a situation whereby the 7D was my only choice. The wife and I are going on our 'holiday of a lifetime' in a few months and while im more than happy that I can take wonderful photographs with my 40D (By wonderful I mean the camera is more capable than I am!) but i now find myself wanting the video facilities of modern cameras. I dont have the luxury of time to wait for Canon's next Big Thing so; I could either buy a separate camcorder, which I'm loathed to do as I just won't use two 'gadgets' on holiday or I can upgrade to a video capable dslr. As we're looking at having our first 'yoof' soon I'm also wanting to have serious 'moment capture' capability on hand in one package.
Given that I don't want to (I heart Canon 17-55mm) and can't afford to change to full frame, my options are limited to the 60D or the 7D. I chose the 7D on a number of personal preferences including build quality, I like the 40D because it feels like I could fire RPGs at it all day and it would beg for more. The 60D feels like a bit of a toy after handling a good old fashioned 'armour plated' camera!
Sounds like I'm trying to justify my purchase doesn't it? Believe me, I've wrestled with this demon long and hard; I'm comfortable with my choice.
I just found it disengenous because of its outmoded nature.
Also the difference in RAW is marginal between them.
Compared the RAW k-5,7000d against a 7d. The 7d is REALLY bad by comparison, and then has the audacity to cost more.
All camera systems screw owners over every now and again, back in 2009, it was cheaper to fly to the states, buy a 540 flash gun, and fly back to the UK than to buy one in the UK. Shocking. But it did give me a good excuse to visit a friend of mine out there :D
Cyril Sneer is on the internetz! I think TheAnimus has had his cover blown!
I'll burn down the forest moose's need to survive in a moment.
It seems the theme song for the cartoon was released as a single with its own music video:

Hmm but what's the quality like? They are certainly bringing the megapixel fight though!
