Sony NEX compact system cameras - lenses
Hi,
I'm still in love with my NEX 5N, but I'm shocked that the lenses haven't fallen in price a little - they're so over inflated.
I wondered if anyone had any experience of alternative lenses, either using adapters of otherwise. I'm quite new to higher level cameras and would benefit from knowing how much difference it would make to be without autofocus (or if there is a workaround).
Thanks!

Easy way to tell if you can deal with manual focus is simply set your current lens(es) to MF....and leave it, for a month.
Then come back after that and say if you feel that dropping a wedge on a lens you can only manual focus is something you can deal with.

Very good point, think I'll give that a shot. Got a feeling it's going to annoy me, and defeats the purpose of getting the camera for it's super quick auto focus time... Hmmm, think you've helped me answer my own question.
Unless anyone knows of a lens that is fully compatible with the NEX range?

why not get the LA-EA2 alpha mount adapter, you can use all A mounts with phase detection :)

^^ This guy goes into details about some of the adapters and other lenses used when making his film with a NEX5

This
It also includes the old Minolta af lenses, which are cheap, 50 for a 50mm f1.8 lens cheap (iirc some old 3rd party ones have issues but that may be on the slt dslr only)
Re: Sony NEX compact system cameras - lenses
But putting an adaptor AND full size SLR lenses kinda defeats the point of that tiny camera body :(
