Pentax K50 and K500 budget dSLR preview and Q7 with larger sensor introduced
Re: Pentax K50 and K500 budget dSLR preview and Q7 with larger sensor introduced
Well having had time to read the details, its basically a k-30 with colours, a better sensor regarding noise (well Pentax claim) and finally more options for video recording.
When it comes to the Nikon offerings, pentax loose on megapixels, but were wining in sharpness and low light, so this should be an iteration that moves forward.
It isn't exciting, but considering Canon hadn't even been able to match the 30, they have done the minimum to keep their place.
Excuse me as a pentax owner, if I'm not really impressed by this.
The Q-7 on the other hand is still very interesting, it is a real case of trying to produce a better camera that is smaller, will be interesting to see how it holds up in the real world.

K-5 owner here: have they stopped recording videos as raw MJPEG? Because that's really painful, even with a large SD card.
Also disappointed by the lack of a robot version of the K-500 a la K-r/K-x

Well the K-30 supports MOV/H.264 so I'd guess it does.
