    Question new digital camera?

Hey guys - it's finally come to the point when I've got to replace my nikon with a new digital camera. looking for something really compact with a good startup time. Any ideas of what's new, with quite a high-res... preferably a brand that I can pick up in duty free in Singapore?

    Any ideas?

    Scotty

Canon A95 is smallish and 5MP, it's what I have decided to buy to replace my old Kodak point n shoot digicam. Checkout dpreview.com and imaging-resource.com, plenty of reviews there to give you an idea of what to spend your money on. Casios are known for their compactness so might be worth a look if the Canon is too big.

cheers for that - just got to trawl reviews for the camera with a very low shutter lag (and small size)

if you get the chance to get out of the airport - you can go to Sim Lim square (it's cheap to get there on the subway / trains), where you can haggle with the sellers and get a much better price than in the airport. the airport prices of the new cameras are cheaper than the UK, but they don't seem to be cheaper than the UK internet shops for the older cameras.

I recommend the Olympus Mju Mini Digital / Stylus Verve (4mp, 2x optical), and the Panasonic Lumix FX7 (5mp, 3x optical)

thanks for that - I think my g/f is being routed straight through to Penang for meetings, so no chance to get out of the airport
