"Hyperlapse" videos - smooth first person videos

Not seen this posted anywhere on here, but Microsoft have developed an algorithm to smooth/steady timelapse videos. I know there are a few GoPro users on here so it might be of interest.
There are some blending errors and artifacts but overall it's pretty impressive!

It's definitely a very cool effect, and it will be interesting to see what the end result is like, once they publish their windows application.

That's quite impressive. Quick incorporate it into youtube for the GO Pro crowd.

Anyone else here familiar with strafe jumping in Quake / Quake 3? Because that's exactly what the "hyperlapse" footage reminds me of.

I was thinking the same thing, until Doom popped in to my head when I saw the people shuffling around like 2D sprites.
