This price point is seriously aggressive for what you get.

The bayer cancelling shift could make for some cracking shots, whilst they lack FA lenses, the FA "lim" we know hold up well, people have been using them on the A7. What will be interesting to see is how the focus is, at 1kg it's not as light as I think many would be hoping for, but they've kept it quite compact, however the initial offering of re-badged tamrons... Yeah. It looks to be a move towards what is frankly a decreasing market share, I think I can see why they are focusing on a landscape niche, I can see why someone might buy a sigma art lens and this. They really need to get some good quality WR primes out there, because this thing does look like it was built for such activities.

Will be interesting to see how good it is in the real world, but this is a lot cheaper than I think most people expected.

I thought so too, I figured I've never once needed such a thing, why make a flappy fragile gimmick.

    Then I saw this video

I think it will be fine, obviously it's another thing to fail, but it doesn't look remotely weaker than other articulating screens. It looks like the sealing is good on it too, which is nice.

It's an interesting move from Pentax, they need to get their arse in gear and crank out some new glass, maybe take some from the 645...

It's not the strength I'm concerned about, it's complexity/stuff getting stuck in the groves/that data ribbon.

They've finally released a sample picture of the pixel shift mode that eliminates 'bayer issues'.

    From this page http://www.ricoh-imaging.co.jp/english/products/k-1/ex/

I've not embedded them because they are huge but check them out:

Will be interesting to get some neutral reviewers sample images, but this looks rather good.
