Finding an image again from the web when you've lost the source
Only sort-of-photography but in case someone can help -
If I have saved (for reference) an image from tumblr, failed to title it properly* and now can't remember the source, is there any way 'back' if reverse image search fails? Usually retracing where I was in history the last activity before I visited the image does the trick, but I don't seem to have left a logical trail in this case.
*ie it has its original 'title', tumblr_string of letters &c, but I didn't add anything to identify it.
Thnks.

I've reverse googled, 'no other sizes of this image found' etc.
..actually you probably mean google for answers, I am doing that too, it's not just laziness it's impatience sorry.

While smaller and generally less helpful, I have found Tineye occassionally picks up images that google does not, so you can give that a try.

Unfortunately not, but thanks :)
..does appear to be impossible so motto, keep better records.

Use google image search: you can just drag and drop the picture into the search box (on chrome at least). Cool when it works but identifying it is a bit hit and miss

missed this the first time. have you tried just putting the title of the file into a google search?
r-click on the file in win explorer > properties. you can copy the filename from the rename box, then just paste the whole filename into google. then look on the image results tab.
tumblr_lhk9215dfr1qbmyqyo1_500.jpg < take it your filename looks like that. try searching for that one :p (not rude, just funny panda)
then you can click on the image and get back to the webpage it was from.
