Recommend a point-and-shoot camera for travels
Hi all,
i have a 450d that i have been using for travels but the gf hates me taking it around with us as i turn into super-tourist and spend ages takes photos.
im looking for a point and shoot with a budget of around 100 maybe up to a max 300 ;), not too fussed but it seems alot of these now have wifi which would be useful.
ideally would like
good sense
some decent optical range (i will not use digital).
compactish
the nikon s7000 looks OK, any recommendations at all?
thanks!

Canon G series have my attention right now. G11 and G12 are amazing. £100 should get a 2nd user off ebay.

Not really sure what P&S bring to the table these days, if you've got a reasonably decent phone it'll be able to compete with a P&S.
If you want a better quality picture then see if you can get hold of Panasonic GM-5 or an Olympus EPL7 etc. Combined with a pancake lens these things are tiny (albeit maybe not as much as a P&S) but you'll far better results. The lenses are then interchangeable with more accomplished cameras in the range.
There is also a bit of a trend for fixed-prime cameras at the moment too. Similar sort of thing, but the lens isn't interchangeable (and is fixed focal), they're reasonably compact and produce cracking quality too.

i would just grab a smartphone, XPeria series would be good since they have huge picture sizes
