Hi,
I bought this a while back with the intention of getting into SLR photography, but I've not had the time to get to grips with it. Any ideas what it's worth?
The 18-200mm lens was pretty expensive I seem to remember, so I don't really fancy just dropping it on eBay for 1p and seeing what happens. Are there places that buy 2nd hand camera gear?

Have a look on some Ebay completed listings and get a rough price - beware of a normal auction without a reserve though.
Yes. Most cities will have independent specialists that have a lot of second hand gear, I like London Camera Exchange but there are many others. Sometimes you need to stroll the high street to find them though!Quote:

None of the shops will offer decent prices as they not only have to make a profit but also have to give a warranty too. If you want the best price either use Ebay or use a local ad of some sort.Quote:

You will barely make £100 selling the lens to CEX.
MPB give pretty nice prices.
I've not looked at CEX, but I would expect so. More importantly though is the relationship so should you go back to photography at a later date they'll still be there! My local LCE keeps a record and if you're a previous customer they tend to give more generous discounts.Quote:
