do jessops pricematch online prices still? or not?
i think they do mate, as long as its from a uk site (not pixmania or 7 day) thats what one of their salesmen told me a month or so ago
yup, if you hunt around i think that was asked earlier in the forums. i got mine for 235 from 300...Quote:

not sure price runner would be 'valid' but you could try...no harm in that!
actually I'd not go for that one, its been superceded by the fz5. the fz20 is over a year old as well. the next one up is the fz30...but might be a bit more expensive than your budget will allow.Quote:

i'd put it to that and the canon S2 IS...
i've looked at the fz5 and the fz20 and the 5 doesnt have manual focus which is something i want. the 20 is only a few quid more..
i'll probably get the prices off ebuyer - they've got both the cameras in stock and are priced competitively..
da ging, you're ignoring the most important aspect of the cameras - the LENS!!!!
i can't speak for the panasonic (if it uses leica optics it will be very good) but i can hand on heart recommend the canon optics.
Guys the FZ20 has not been replaced by the FZ5 but by the FZ30. The FZ5 is the entry level in the range. If you have any questions about the FZ20 give me a shout, i have one!
Andy
the fz20 an 5 are almost the same and yes i know the 30 is the replacement but since the 5 is practically identical and newr it has new internals i.e. image processing = lower noise etc. the 30 is just a higher mpix version (with focus ring)
But then you'd see my awful stitching!Quote:

hehe!
ok...
just in case no one else has noticed canon has just (on monday) released two new dSLRs and a host of other digi-cam/compact digitals, printers and lenses.
the most 'significant' release bieng the introduction of a 'full frame' (equal to 35mm photo size) dSLR called the 5D. though rather annoyingly it is out of reach of us mere mortals at a proposed £2500!
also released is an update on the 1dmkII, called the 1dmkII N, so not a lot has changed apart from a bigger lcd and a few extra custom functions (almost updatable with a software patch I suspect - infact very similar to the D70/D70s update, not a great deal to shout about unless you're buying new. if you already own one then there's not much point getting the update...unless you have the cash to splash!
new lenses are an f/4 24-105mm IS L series lens, which is likely to be very popular indeed. and there's an update on one of canon's oldest IS lenses the 70-300 IS, which gets a newer IS build.
best place to look for all this is www.dpreview.com its all there.
And it doesn't even have a built-in flash! :devilish:Quote:

shame this new one isn't weather proof then. I'd get that roof fixed instead.
