    Flashgun/LED advice

I need a reasonable budget flashgun(or LED array) for my D600 and have a budget upto £100 to £120. Its only for the occasional portrait or group shot - I am a bit out of the loop on this,so would appreciate any suggestions! I have been looking at the Godox and Yongnuo flashguns.

    Re: Flashgun/LED advice

Yonguo are fine as are Nissin, I use two Nissin on my macro rig, pretty nice, very fast cycle time, well balanced.

    But forget LED !! Terrible.

Agreed on Yongnuo and Nissin - both fine choices if you are avoiding (overpriced) Nikon, Canon, etc type guns. Have used both, own neither but would buy if I needed.

Dunno about LED arrays. I've seen mixed (at best) comments, but never tried 'em.

    Re: Flashgun/LED advice

I've been using Godox for the past two years. Great product! (built in 2.4Ghz is amazing vs say Yongnuo where you need an extra part to trigger)

Godox TT685N can be had for under 100

Bought a 2 set flash and trigger from Amazon, then spied a 3rd flash on eBay at a knockout price of 80, at the time that was a killer price.

    Got my AD360 from tomtop.com

They belonged to someone else, and I don't remember model num's, I'm afraid. It was several years ago so may have changed anyway. They were both, I remember, about 1 down from top of range.

Sure. I apparently also found out some of the Neewer flashguns are actually the same as Godox ones but cheaper.

An example is the Godox V860(the MK1 verson) and the Neewer TT860!

BTW,I have done some research into NIMH batteries to use too. Apparently the best are Eneloops, which are made in Japan, but it appears many of them are rebadged and can be had cheaper.

There is this is website which tracks literally all the rebadged Eneloop batteries:

    https://eneloop101.com/batteries/rewrapped-batteries/

This one has detailed discharge cycles and a comparison tool:

    https://lygte-info.dk/review/batteri...comparator.php

Looking at that the IKEA LADDA batteries are the cheapest Eneloop rebrands you can get:

    https://petapixel.com/2018/02/16/ene...a-5-batteries/

AmazonBasics batteries appear to Eneloop rebrands too(as long as they say they are made in Japan).

Doing some more research it seems these batteries are gen3/gen4 Eneloop Pro batteries:

    https://www.7dayshop.com/products/fu...ecr6fuj-2550x2

So I am going to order a set of those.

Now I need to find a decent charger.

Actually for rechargeable batts, the £4.99 ones from Ikea are the best

I've been using this charger for years.
