Red face *yawn* another recommend me a camera thread

For around £150 (cant go much above, maybe £170 absolute tops)

Its for my sis off my parents. Basically she'd want a basic-ish camera, some sort of optical zoom would be nice and small-ish.

Ive seen a Canon Ixus IIs 3.2mp camera for £140 which seems like a bargain to me, but them im not an expert, all i know is our Powershot A75 (recommended to me from another forum) has been brilliant.

    Thanks guys.

EDIT: Also forgot to mention, this is just for the camera. As ill likely buy her a bigger memory card and case to go with it, cause i dont have a clue what else to get lol.

How about the Sony DSC-P200, on dixons website for £200, but they aint the cheapest. I've got it and its brilliant. Not expert photographer standard but my mum can use it (less aggravation )

i suppose it ticks all the boxes, just maybe a tad big..... although its a good point, as i know its good.

Will consider the sony although its a tad over budget (i might chip in if its THAT good).

But atm i think the SD300 or Ixus 40 (as i gather its known here in the UK) is ahead, pixmania have it for £166 or its even cheaper off the canon store on ebay (refurbished but technically new).

    decisions decisions.

Thanks for all the input tho fellas.

edit, just had a look at all your pics shiato storm, they are VERY nice, were they taken with the sony or (as im guessing) an expensive SLR?
