Just been taking some shots in the rain and my camera got quite wet. Is there any easy way to keep the lens and main body dry?

I seem to remeber bodging a device from a skylite filter and a ziplock bag

What's the best way to clean the lens then after rain gets on it?
I tend to try and avoid shooting in the rain... Not because i'm worried about the cam' getting damaged, but because I find it hard to get anything without great big splodges of rain - especially as I tend to shoot upward.
If i'm forced to I tend to just try and find some sort of shelter. Spent a while shooting from under a bridge, cos' it was snowing today! ;o
umbrella ftw!
clear plastic bag with a hole cut in for the lens
and use a lens cloth for rain drops
