Just got the Canon 70-200mm F2.8L IS and the 24-105mm F4L IS

Blimey - the 70-200 is heavy but after shooting over 300 pics at our village carnival; I am quite pleased with the purchase - just quite difficult to walk around with it. I was asked if I was a reported and the carnival promoter announced I had a missile launcher to several hundred people

I got the 24-105mm lens from WaltersPhotoVideo for £720 - that’s cheaper that HK importers on eBay. The price on the website was £750 (still a good price) but as I brought 2 (my friend got one also); they did a deal. They only had 2 left but will get more in soon. I am aware of the early versions having flare problems but I checked this first.

I also ordered the Canon 1.4x II extender so looking forward to put that on my 70-200 lens and see if I can get those nervous birds in my garden

    My Stuff:-
    Canon EOS 20D
    Canon 50mm F1.8 Mk.1
    Canon 17-85mm F4/F5.6 IS
    Canon 70-200mm F2.8L IS
    Canon 24-105mm F4L IS
    Canon EF 1.4x Converter II
    ...and other bits and bobs

I am going to sell the 17-85mm IS lens with lens hood / hoya pro dmc filter and hoya Circular Poloriser - my 24-105 will replace this and I am thinking of the 16-35L lens for the wide angle side. The 17-85mm is a good lens but the deal was to sell that to get the extra reach of the 24-105.
