Is it ok to buy Jap Import Digital SLR?????????

I ahve been looking and looking at variuos Digital SLR cameras inc 30D , D70s. On Ebay there are alot of companies 1 being digitalRev that sell Japenese imports for a good saving, has anyone used any of these companies, are there drawbacks on warranty?
Any advice would be gratefully received.

digital rev is one of the better importers, have a look at Kerso too, his service is pretty highly regarded

I'm guessing there must be somthing or everyone would do it!!!!

as far as i know nikon will not honour the warranty on imports infact i've read they will not touch them period, dont know about canon

generally speaking lenses are covered internationally but bodies are not.

Hmmmmmmmm, so if I buy an imported Nikon , Nikon UK will not touch it if it goeas wrong..........

Wonder about Canon, If anyone knows plz tell me, I shall call canon tmrw....30D looks more appealing!

Confusing thing is the descriptions all say worldwide warranty!!!!!

Digitalrev give a years warenty, think they also have a UK agent that deals with problems. Your 12 months gtee is with the retailer not the manufacturer.

Very unlikely that you get international warranty on the bodies or the lens, I own a Canon 30D and a 70-200 L lens and both dont have international manufacturer warranty
