Lightbulb My li'l ol' Canon A430

I've recently got into trying to take some arty shots with my el cheapo Canon Powershot A430. Take a look at 2 of my faves, and let me know your honest opinion

NB. no tripod was used for either shot - just my incredibly steady hands

Top one is good, but it would have been better if you had got in closer.

The depth of field is good in the second one but the main object looks slighlty out of focus.

Thanks Nick - would have loved to have got in closer for the first one, but the A430 only has 4x optical....if I'd got any closer the butterfly would have flown away.

Image 2, thanks May appear slightly out of focus in the post, because it's a heavily compressed jpeg of the original. The full 4MB image looks great - you'll just have to trust me

    Cheers

have to say I liked this camera for the 2 week we had it before it got nicked on holiday. Replace it with a A610 from argos sale its nice too Good shots aswell just goes to show you dont need an uber pricey camera to get good shots
