    £700-£1000 for a pc

    Hi,
    can anyone recomend me a system in this price braket that would be able to play most modern games. If you think biulding one myself would be a better option could you reccomend the parts and where to purchase them, thanks

    Try the Configurator on www.watford.co.uk - it only shows compatible parts, and for £30 they build it.

    Great systems, all I'd say is that perhaps you are spending too much on a bang up-to-date chip, get one thats hardly any slower and save a small fortune. Each to their own I guess... WAAAY better than my machine!

    well at least i dont think

    XMS2 = DDR2

    no athlon XP supports DDR2, itll be a DDR 1 board, thus wont accept the stupidly fast PC5400 memory

    I'm with Pirate on this one - I'd go for a slightly slower chip and save yourself a load of cash. It's really not worth a few hundred extra megahurtz for all the extra money that it costs.

    wait a bit > xmas ppl will lower prices to increase spending, and you can shop round! ive always found watford slightly expensive

    (the guys at kustompcs could build a pc to your budget > they could help!)
