Nah wouldn't bother, u could build better for the money.

Ram probably cheap, gpu not the best, screen will suck, onboard sound is poor, single layer dvd, cheap mobo, probably 2mb cache hdd.

End of the day assume worst because they will state it if its best.

I dont think they make 120 gig hard drives with 2 meg...

My Dad has one. It has got an MSi mobo and he did pay more to get a better tft. I wouldn't touch it with a stinky barge pole but my Dad likes it.

I would build my own pc...oh yeah, it doesn't have a reset button...VERY VERY annoying.

Not really, every manufacturer has 2meg cache drives, they're plenty good enough for archive/storage drives.

To actually answer the chap's question, no, I wouldn't buy it, it'll use all the cheapest components possible, have terrible build quality, and not to mention what a bunch of clueless idiots the pc world people are..

Of you want a cheap but solid box, and don't want to build one yourself, head over to Dell, or hunt about and see if you can find a Sony Vaio desktop cheap in somewhere like Dabs

Solid as in the case is heavy and stiff, because thats about as far it goes. Dell are overpriced and under specced mass-market fodder for the unsuspecting buyer. I dealt with them for years, not out of choice, I wouldn't ever again!

I'd have to disagree there slightly...Dell are pretty amazing at building sturdy laptops! Take the 8600 and the 9100....not exactly cheap materials, and I can say this, as I have one myself, its been the quickest machine EVER to boot to windows. Not had a single problem with it.

I worked for one employer in a 2nd & 3rd line desktop/network support role using Dell kit for 3.5 years, I saw over 3,000 Dell units come and go.
