Question Student Laptop - some casual gaming (Steam)

My son is having issues with the size of his rig at college, wants a laptop instead...

He has about £400 +/- to spend, but needs:
    about 15" screen,
    above 320GB disk
at least i3 pref i5 Core processor
    at least 4GB memory
discrete graphics (but not XPS style)
    DVD ROM (prefer write)

Games include ShogunTW, TeamFortress2, CounterStrike, Skyrim, but low detail quite acceptable.

Does anyone own of have seen something that would be worth considering?

    Found two more:

    http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/Acer_...01/version.asp

    http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/Toshi...EN/version.asp

The first might be be able to run the IGP in Crossfire mode with the discrete graphics card meaning increased performance. Both have HD7670M graphics cards.

Thanks - food for thought. Just need to read up on the A6 processor vs the i3!

The Core i3 should be quicker, but whether it will be massively noticeable for general work is another thing. There is the possibility that the AMD laptop can run its IGP(320 shaders) in Crossfire with the discrete card(480 shaders) which will boost performance. There is a £61 difference between the laptops, although the more expensive one is a Toshiba, and they tend to be better built AFAIK.
