    Samsung RV515 with broken webcam??

    Hello,
    a month ago we bought a Samsung Notebook based on the APU E-450. It's all working correctly....BUT we never checked if webcam was working. A few days ago we found that its built-in camera is not seen at all from the system (Win7 64bit)
    If I check on devices in control panel and ask windows to update it, it can't find any webcam. I tried downloading the driver from this page
    samsung page -> /us/support/owners/product/NP-RV515-A01US
    where i can see only an XP driver. There is an x64 version in the package...but when I try installing it, it says it couldn't find any webcam!?
    I tried with a live Ubuntu version...the command lsusb can't see any webcam too
    Anyone has found this problem with this model? Samsung forgot to install it? Broken webcam?

    Can you see the webcam in Device Manager?

    Actually - scrub that. Are there any 'Unknown Devices' in DM?

    Sounds like the webcam's not connected. I would send it back...

    No...can't see the webcam anywhere! . No unknown devices in DM ...nada de nada! It seems really not connected. Samsung forgot to connect it?

    Have you checked it's enabled in the BIOS?

    You may also have to install the manufacturers system management software in order to enable your webcam, I've owned laptops, although not a Samsung, where I've needed the system management software to enable or disable onboard devices.

    do you have a picture of it on the F keys, I have to press Fn + F9 to enable the webcam
