    Pre-Built System Support

Can I just double check on the support for the new systems.

I bought a new system from another site and had various problems to the extent i'm getting a refund and wondered how Scan was in comparison.

For example if you get a system and hypothetically the GFX card started playing up and causing bsod crashes, am I right in saying Scan will actually send an enginner to your house to fix the problem?

At what stage would they ask for the system to be posted back as opposed to sending out an engineer?

In the previous example I had a dodgy graphics card intially then a week later a corrupt hdd, so wondering how it would be dealt with.

The computer in mind is for my business so its extremely important to keep up and running hence the questions.

    This should get you started:

Towards the bottom are the onsite/RTB policies.

    Re: Pre-Built System Support

    Hi Jockbh0y

With a 3XS System wherever possible we will use onsite engineers but some things can't be covered onsite so its best to say simple things like VGA card, Power Supply, Memory, Hard drive,CPU can be swapped out by an engineer whereas any water cooling has to be done at Scan and any Overclocked Motherboard as these need extensive testing that cant be done onsite

With reference to your previous experiences of a dodgy graphics card if this was the case and you were happy to change this rather than send the system back or wait 2-3 days for an onsite we could send an advanced replacement out as we have done this for some customers ( it all depends on the part and the customer)

    Regards

    Ben

    Re: Pre-Built System Support

Its pretty much what I thought then which sounds good.

The machine in question will be a good spec as its for business but just need to try and keep it up and running as much as possible. Fingers crossed there are no issues but I just know sometimes stuff happens in transit etc.

I'm just pulling together some more of the specification then as soon as I get the refund for the last computer I wil be placing the order.

One quick question which I can assume but may as well ask. Would the sales folk, if I was to phone up be able to advice on components needed for a machine specifically for rendering and 3DMax? I assume they are probably more clued up with gaming computers as 3d max is more specialist but you never know. I'm gathering the relevant information from various websites at the moment.

    Re: Pre-Built System Support

Scan package their systems extremely well so I'd not worry about that too much.

I've never seen a system builder internally protect their systems with anti static bubble wrap.

    Re: Pre-Built System Support

I think Scan's three year warranty with on-site support is the biggest plus point for me as I'm looking around the different online companies for a pre-built OC system. Hopefully I won't need support at all of course, but good to have that piece of mind!
