AMD x2 270 is probably a small downgrade from a Q6600.

I assume the HDD drives are SATA,so I would re-use them.

I looked at some prebuilt PCs for you.

CCL Computers seem to have the best value for money ones:

However they all use motherboards with old chipsets. Here are some reviews of the £500 system:

However,they use Corsair VS series PSUs which are rubbish.

But again a motherboard with an old chipset and the PSU is unknown.

Motherboard is another one with an old chipset,but it uses a good quality 400W PSU and OcUK probably could put a bigger PSU in there,if you ring them.

It is also cheap enough for you,to add a reasonable graphics cards. I suspect a GTX660 or HD7850 would run fine off the 400W PSU.
