    yet another laptop question

Wifes laptop just died, so also looking for a replacement. Any thoughts on these two or any others for under £350?

    The HP 650
HP 650 Core i3 Windows 8 Laptop in Charcoal Black - C5C49EA comes in at £250 after cashback.
    Screen size - 15.6in
    Processor - Intel Core i3 2328M - 2.2
    RAM - 4GB
    Hard Drive - 320
Operating System - Windows 8 Home Premium (64-bit)
    Optical Drive - DVD SM
    Warranty - 1 year warranty

    Option 2 is a Samsung 355V5C Laptop for £340
    - AMD DC A6-4400M 2.7GHz
    - 6GB RAM + 500GB HDD
    - 15.6",Webcam
    - AMD Radeon HD 7520G
    - Windows 8 (64bit)

Main use will be office type stuff, but would like to use it for gentle gaming (mainly old stuff), and video playback connected to the TV via HDMI.

    Re: yet another laptop question

I couldn't find anything really compellingly better than that Samsung you listed. I'd go for it over the Intel because of its graphics, which is miles ahead of the Intel part. Don't know what kind of games you are planning to play but if its anything 3D, get the AMD. If its something like Red Alert 2, well you could save money going with the Intel but the AMD will offer more headroom going down the road.
