    15" Desktop replacement laptop

    Hi all,

Long time no post, but was wondering if you could help me. My current computing gear dates from 2008 and it's time for some new kit.

I travel a lot between countries so I'd definitely like a laptop. The ideal spec would be the following:

13-15" form factor with a nicely built body - prefer metal
Discrete graphics - not a hardcore gamer but I'd like to be able to play the odd title
    SSD + HDD
Really nice screen. As much res as possible, IPS would be even better. This is non-negotiable.
    Displayport out

This doesn't quite seem to exist, but I've found a couple that get close:

Macbook Pro 15" Retina + bootcamp £1700 ish
    Sony Vaio S series 15" £1500 with i7 + 256gb SSD
ASUS Zenbook UX51VZ - hard to find in the UK

Does anyone have any thoughts on any of those choices, or maybe one or two more to add into the mix? I'm in no immediate rush to buy, and I've heard that the Samsung 7 series is on its way and very nice?

As a second part to the question, I'll be looking to offload my current desktop and notebook. Unfortunately I don't think they're worth very much at all - what's the best way to do this? I've got the following:

    Desktop:

    AMD Phenom 9950 2.6ghz
    8GB RAM
    ATI Firepro V4800
    Intel 90gb SSD
    2x Samsung 500GB HDDs RAID 0
    1x Seagate Barracude 1TB
    DVD writer
Front card reader, extra USB 2.0 expansion cards, USB 3.0 expansion card, modern twin antenna WLAN card.
    Corsair 500W PSU
Antec 300 case, good quality CPU cooler, all fairly neat and in good condition.

    Is this worth maybe £200?

    Notebook:

    Dell Inspiron 1420
    Core 2 Duo T5750 2ghz
    4GB RAM
    GeForce 8400M GS
    150GB HDD
    DVD writer

This needs a new power brick and the fan clicks. Could I get £100 for this? Both Systems could be sold with Win 7, although the laptop is maybe better with Vista as sound drivers are ropey under 7.

    Thanks for your help!
