A Thank You and a Question

    Hi guys,

Firstly I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to Scan / 3XS for my new system.

3XS built my last system about 5 or 6 years ago with the first Intel i7 - apart from a Graphics Card change it ran as sweet as a nut. The the PSU went pop and took the motherboard with it (oddly) - game me the excuse to buy a new one.

Ben was extremely helpful with my delivery query and probably had a good laugh at the email I sent (see when it comes to being forced to watch Glee I am not above begging)

    They built me:
    CPU - Core i7 with A/Cooling Freezer 7 Pro V2
    Mobo - Asus Z87-K
    Mem - 8 GB Corsair
Sound - Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme
    GFX - EVGA 2Gb Signature
    Case - Corsair Carbide 300R

Ordered 6/6/13 received and installed by their technician 14/06/13 (I did pay for priority build mind you)

It came pre-installed with Windows 7 64bit Pro but I had to get rid of that as I hadn't ordered an operating system as I already have my own. That was emotional as I couldn't get it installed - a trip to google on my phone sorted that out.

Anyway, question. There is a lead from the back of my computer (I assume from the motherboard) which is utilising 2 of my USB Ports - does anyone have any ideas what these are for?

I don't really want to take the PC apart to have a look, I only got if Friday.

Again, thank you gents at scan.....thank you too Netsolve (when he eventually found my house lol - new builds are a pain in the *** to find on sat navs)

Re: A Thank You and a Question

Are they the USB3.0 ports? If so, it might be providing the connection for your front panel USB ports if you motherboard didn't have any USB3.0 headers internally.

Strange, both the chassis and the mobo have 3.0 headers

Re: A Thank You and a Question

I had a quickie look inside and it appears to be running the rear fan.....I might unplug it all in a bit and have a look at where it's sourced
