They also have a VAIO Duo I believe.
Do ASUS not have that new laptop with Windows 98, MAC, Linux, Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows 8 and all the other OSs on it

Well all I can say is good luck - I still prefer going to a high street shop to purchase a product as I can then deal with them directly.
I had problems with the Xperia Z, and had I not bought it from a shop I would have had major issues getting a replacement.
Legally, there is no reason why you should have any particular problems. If anything you have further protection (according to the law) by purchasing online.
well my woes have continued. I have had significant issues with the Wifi radio that seem to be extremely temporamental but are so sever that they not only make the wifi radio in the laptop fall over but also the router itself. This has happened across a few different routers, both n and ac capable and has cost me a lot of time troubleshooting.
This lump of crap is going back tomorrow and i will never look towards Lenovo again.
Back to the drawing board i guess.
Now that im actually in my job this a pretty serious problem as any time without a decent mobile workstation could have an impact on the business. So annoyed at this crappy product right now.
If anyone reads this... do not buy a Thinkpad Yoga!
Shame, the W500 I'm typing this on is rather solid - hewn from granite tbh! That being said, I've not had to call on their warranty services.
What about the T or X Series?
I kinda wish i had gone for the T440s, i was kind of expecting the procedure with complaints/returns to go along the lines of, 'would you be interested in an exchange for X/Y product'. No such luck, they seem to have written me, and anyone else with a Yoga+dock off entirely. I'm lucky in that I'm protected in the UK and they have agreed to refund me, our US brothern have not been so lucky as far as I have read.
Now that I have had such a complete nightmare with Lenovo, they are just completely off the cards and on my blacklist. Im sure in actual fact i may well have just bought the wrong product from their range and had an unfortunate experience, but the amount of money that was spent and the sheer lack of dedication from their customer service really puts me off. On top of this, the nature of the situation is that im going to have to take a risk by ordering another laptop, the problems i have had with lenovo, as far as im concerned, make ordering another Lenovo a higher risk.
Im going through the options now and it seems like its going to end up as something like a Dell Latitude or XPS. Christ even the Apple 13" Macbook Pro with Retina is looking appealing at £1650 (with the 256GB SSD and i7 upgrade).
After a bit of investigation i discovered that the process on my computer called 'discovery' which is part of Lenovo EMC Storage Connector software was the thing causing my wireless issues. I have uninstalled it and that seems ok now. No word back from Lenovo support on the implications of uninstalling this and i cant find anything obvious on Google.
I have managed to get the complaints team to agree to collect and refund me the warranty and laptop but they are telling me to go through digital river (the UK online shop) to get a refund of the dock. :wallbash:
I asked for an explanation of why i need to do this, and if i really do have to go down this road then they should communicate the problem to them and ask them to contact me once fully informed as i have no desire to be taken in any more circles.
Seriously considering swallowing my pride and getting a 13" retina MBP as a replacement. None of the other companies offer connectivity as good for the same form factor... which is bizarre as once upon a time the connectivity options would have been a real stickler for the MBP. There is a bit of flexibility with thunderbolt docks aswell.
After the serious issues with build quality i experienced with my last MBP, im somewhat hesitant still :(
Well just to let you know my MBPr is working flawlessly, and I've even taken it into a store for help with getting windows on it (boot camp wouldn't do it for some reason). Turns out it was my USB. As good as 8.1 looked, many apps were pixilated. Chrome looked horrible. DPI scaling is awful, so I feel for people that have anything over 1080p on a 13 inch laptop. It's too hard to see anything. You end up leaning towards the screen every time you want to look at something. Ended up removing it this morning.
Battery life is excellent. I've charged it 4 times since I've had it because it lasts plenty of time. Build quality is amazing. Nothing creaks, it's all smooth and the trackpad is by far the best I've used.
Shame you're not a fan of them. Mac does take a while to get used to, but once you do it really aids the experience with the high res display - something that Windows couldn't do. Could you imagine if it didn't do that on smartphones!
Also: The MBPr is quite hefty, especially for its size. But then again, it is made of glass and metal :p
I was hesitant to get one because I always saw them as dramatically over priced. However, I got mine for 890 GBP brand new (with the US keyboard, which I wanted anyway because I find it better for use on laptops with small keyboards.
I don't regret it, and it certainly turns heads in public (if you're into that). I've bought a speck satin black case for mine, which has a lovely soft touch feel to it - the best bit about it is that the apple logo shines through it
Now that Vaio is gone, I wouldn't recommend buying any of their stuff. I've not been impressed by the new think pads if I'm honest. Went and looked at one in Cardiff the other day. They used to be renowned for their superb build quality - not any more. It felt cheap. I wouldn't want to drop 1K on something that doesn't feel like it's worth that.
Well my yoga is 1080p on 12.5 inch and thats pretty brutal on the eyes so i can imagine how bad 2560 x 1600 @ 13" will be! Windows is terrible at scaling although i do think thats as much to do with the apps as it is windows itself. They really need to do some work on the multi monitor scaling in windows thats for sure!
I have no problem getting used to Mac OS, its basically a flashy version of BSD so no huge surprises there. Unfortunately windows is essential for my work so i will have to have it.
Yeah it doesn't seem to understand that 2 x 1080p screens can be two different sizes though. For my 23" i don't need any scaling but for the 12.5 i certainly do!
FWIW my boss has x2 something with a 12" 1080p display and a sit underneathy dock (rather than the newer separate box style ones) and its great. You still won't get my T410 off me, as I hate working (vs gaming/movie watching) on widescreen laptops.
Thats HP isnt it?
It's definitely nice to have a 16:10 aspect ratio rather than being stuck with a few less pixels! - if you went for a aspect ratio like the Chromebook pixel I bet it'd be even nicer!
Thats actually a good point, for what i do, vertical resolution is helpful! God I hate the fact that im getting talked into a MBP.
